Mark your calendar ladies! Phillip Lim is coming to Target on September 15, 2013. Target released a sneak peek video and I cannot wait for the lookbook to be released. This will definitely be another popular collaboration like the Jason Wu and the Missioni collaborations. I hope Target redeems itself with this collaboration after the Neiman Marcus collaboration failed miserably.
Here’s the video:

Spring officially started yesterday and we are going to attempt to start blogging again. The past year has been crazy. The Tan Sisters traveled overseas to Cambodia and Thailand this past summer to visit family. We have been busy ever since we got back that we have neglected our little blog.
Here’s our first Thrifty Thursday outfit of the season.

We love Zoya Polish and they are having a great sale right now. The polish are natural and free from chemicals. Grab some fun nail colors for you and your friends. I bought an oxblood polish for myself and grabbed two other shades for presents.
Cheng’s salon, Koda celebrated their first birthday last night. Cheng and I decorated the place with a lot of DIY pieces that we created. Cheng wanted a black and white theme with a splash of gold. We decided on white flowers and gold glitter vases. This quick project will bring glamour and fun to any old vase.
Supplies:
Old vases and jars
Modge Podge
Gold glitter

Tape your jar/vase to your liking. We chose to make the bottom part of the vase sparkly.

Apply Modge Podge to the jar/vase. I used my finger instead of a brush. Make sure you apply the Modge Podge evenly.

Generously apply the glitter on to the jar/vase. Let the jar/vase dry overnight before peeling the tape.
Here’s the finished product:

Halloween is right around the corner. We’re starting the fun festivities by painting pumpkins with stylish stripes, polka dots, and patterns. This DIY project took less than two hours to do and will dress up any pumpkin. You can even use these pumpkins for Thanksgiving if you wanted to.
Supplies needed:
Pumpkins
Masking tape or painters tape
Paint (you can use spray paint if you want)
Paintbrushes
Step one: Take all the stickers off the pumpkins and make sure they are free of dirt.
Step two: Tape the pumpkins with a pattern. The chevron pattern is hard to do on a pumpkin, so you will need patience and perseverance. The easiest pattern to tape is just simple stripes.
Step three: Paint your pumpkins. We used black, white, and gold paint. We painted one pumpkin white and painted gold dots. You can skip painting the pumpkin white by just purchasing white pumpkins. Cheng had an “ah ha” moment. Once your paint is dry, then slowly remove the tape.
These stylish pumpkins will be housed at Koda Salon.

We’re back after an unintentional two month hiatus. Cheng and I were overseas in Cambodia and Thailand this summer exploring beautiful sights and visiting family. It was so hot and humid there and we were looking forward to the cool fall weather in California. We returned to hot summer weather instead. It is October and I am still wearing summer clothes. This week’s post is dedicated to a dreamy cool fall afternoon that I am wishing and hoping will come soon.

I don’t know about you, but I have been glued to the TV watching the Olympics. There are so many great American athletes with amazing stories that I want to cry every time I watch their profiles on TV. The Olympics this year has also provided a lot of eye candy courtesy of the men’s swim team. I am crushing on Nathan Adrian and Ryan Lochte. I feel like a teenager gushing over these two swimmers, but they are just too cute.
Here’s a simple outfit to root for Team USA. This vintage t-shirt is classic and can be worn after the games have ended. Who’s your favorite athlete you’re rooting for?
